Killing Us Softly 3

Here is the link to the film, “Killing Us Softly 3.”

Handout/Worksheet.  There’s no need to write a lengthy tome in response to these questions.  A few lines is sufficient.

Updated Syllabus

Updated syllabus for UNT 2100-03 is here.  Syllabus - Updated

Friday Video Fun

Ran across this on feministing.com, the best site out there, imho.

Have a good weekend, y’all! I’ll be grading away like a mad woman…

Grading Is Underway!

Just to let you know, I’m working on grading your blogs, and I’m having a really great time doing it (for the most part).  Please make sure that your name, class number and blog address are correct in the blogroll (as I’ve said in class), because I go to the blogroll to get your address to your blog in order to grade.  Whatever is at the address I have for you in the blogroll is what gets graded.

In our next class (our last one to discuss new information, btw! Dead week is right around the corner!) we’ll be discussing activism and goverment a little more (less on the gov’t, more on the activist, fyi, especially since I have seen a good many blog entries that say how boring the gov’t chapter was!).  See you Wednesday!

Just in case…

Just in case you need a copy of the Thanksgiving assignment, here it is.

UNT 2100 Assignment re DV

Opportunity!

I received the attached flyer from the secretary in the Women’s Studies program at TWU, and thought I would pass it along.  For those of you in my class at UNT, this will come in handy for your Thanksgiving assignment.

The discussions that we have had over the domestic violence section (again, this is UNT classes) has been quite good.  I’m glad that y’all enjoyed Dixie’s presentation, and I will be sure to keep her involved in class.  She is working on putting together something to present to the online classes, but it’s a pretty big task, and she just hasn’t been able to finish it up yet.

Keep up the good work - the semester’s almost over!

Flyer

Our presenter, Dixie Allen, who I had initially scheduled for this Wednesday, is going to have to postpone to 11/12 (that’s a Monday).  That works out well, because that will give us a little time to discuss the readings, etc. for the violence against women chapter before Dixie arrives.

FYI, y’all, your presentations are kickin’.  You are doing great.  We are going to have Monday as our catch up day, for those who have not yet been able to present.

**ALERT**       **ALERT**       **ALERT**       **ALERT**

If you have not presented by Wednesday 11/7 at the very latest, you will no longer have the opportunity to do so. Be sure to be in class, and ready to present, on Monday.  I think we can get all the remaining presentations taken care of for both classes.

Y’all have a good weekend!

Blogging

Remember, folks, when it comes to the blogging assignment, that this is an assignment that I will grade similarly to a journal submitted in an english class.  The purpose of the blogging assignment is for you to think about and process the readings and discussions that we have worked on in class (both face to face class and online class).  I want you to also read other students’ blogs, hence the assignment for this week. A question for another student would be good, as I outline in the syllabus, but ultimately, what I want you to do is some interacting through the blogs and interacting with each other. Read each others’ blogs, and speak to your classmates.
